Our commitment
The welfare of children and young people is our first consideration. Everyone involved with Carlisle Galaxy — coaches, volunteers, players, parents and carers — shares responsibility for creating a safe football environment.
We follow The FA safeguarding framework and work with Cumberland FA when safeguarding advice, referrals or further action are required.
Our standards
- Children should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness.
- Coaches and volunteers working in eligible roles must meet appropriate safeguarding and recruitment requirements.
- Concerns about a child’s welfare must be taken seriously and reported promptly.
- Bullying, discrimination, intimidation and inappropriate behaviour are not accepted.
- Children should be encouraged to speak to a trusted adult whenever something makes them feel worried, uncomfortable or unsafe.
Responding to concerns
Do not attempt to investigate a safeguarding concern yourself. Listen, stay calm, record the facts as accurately as possible and pass the concern to the Club Welfare Officer or the appropriate safeguarding authority.
